Meet the Mystix
The Mystix deliver a raw, road-worn blend of Americana, roots, and blues, led by Boston’s own Jo Lily and Bobby B. Keyes. Jo, a journeyman vocalist with decades in the scene, brings grit, soul, and a deep storytelling voice to the mic. Bobby Keyes, a seasoned guitarist and producer with credits ranging from Lil Wayne to Jerry Lee Lewis, adds studio finesse and a signature groove. Together, they’ve shaped a sound that’s both timeless and unmistakably their own.
Formed in Boston, The Mystix are built on the strength of a core group affectionately known as the Boston Wrecking Crew—featuring Duke Levine (Bonnie Raitt), Marco Giovino (Robert Plant), Bobby Spellman, Sax Gordon, and Matt Leavenworth. The band’s extended lineup includes all-star players from the bands of Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, Jackson Browne, Levon Helm, Tom Jones, and North Mississippi Allstars. Collaborators include Larry Campbell, Kevin Barry, Marty Ballou, Jesse Williams, Ben Alleman, Tom West, Jerry Portnoy, and Annie Raines, among others.
Now celebrating their 25th anniversary, The Mystix are releasing Dream Girl—an album that captures the full scope of their journey. From gospel-tinged folk to swampy blues and country ballads, Dream Girl reflects a band still evolving, still digging deep, and still playing with fire. Soulful, and rooted in the American tradition—The Mystix invite you to discover the journey and dive into the sound.
